S.A.M.

Designed by: Lynnea

"I decided to name the robot S.A.M.

S.A.M. standing for 'Spaceship Assistant Moderator'. The main materials that this robot would be composed of are aluminium, and steel. It stays inside of the spaceship and its job is to monitor, operate, and maintain machines on the spaceships. Specifically, it is in charge of monitoring, operation, and maintaining the machines that are used to recycle oxygen and carbon dioxide. In order to do so, it’s equipped with an NDIR CO2 sensor as well as an O2 detector. If anything goes wrong, it is also equipped with a transmission sensor to warn astronauts on board the ship. Since it stays inside the ship, it will also be powered by electricity. Additionally, as a side job, it is equipped with a claw. This claw was made to help astronauts clean up any small messes there may be. Its claw is made up of steel and its main body is made of aluminum. The color of its main body is white it has a blue circle on the top and bottom followed by an orange strip. The O2 detector is colored blue and the NDIR (Non Dispersive Infrared) CO2 sensor, as well as its transmission sensor is colored red. Lastly, it has a small screen in its front that shows two eyes. The eyes change based on what the current conditions of the machines are. It has five different types. Amazing, fairly well, normal, needs to be fixed, in critical condition. In this photo, the face is representing 'alright'."
