S.A.G.E.

Designed by: Mareike

"My robot S.A.G.E is an AI designed to be an automated greenhouse environment. S.A.G.E (Self-sustained Automated Greenhouse Environment) is able to grow a small garden of red romaine lettuce that can be both a small food source on the Lunar Gate and an ongoing experiment. S.A.G.E is equipped with a camera to send feedback to earth to show the slow growth of the lettuce. Red romaine lettuce has already been grown in space and continues to develop the experimentation of growing vegetables in space. Due to the lack of gravity in space, S.A.G.E would need a special watering system that would not drown the plants. A water tank is connected to S.A.G.E with a tube. The water is shot into the clay-based soil which will then be absorbed by the roots. To monitor the growth of red romaine lettuce there are a moisture sensor, a temperature sensor, and an air quality sensor to monitor all the factors as the lettuce grows over time. S.A.G.E is an AI designed so someday evolve to be a source of food on the Lunar Gateway."
