B.R.I.S.

Designed by: Sydney

"My lunar rover B.R.I.S (botany research in space) has a very important job. B.R.I.S grows plants from as small as a seed, all the way to a full grown vegetable. Some of its sensors include:

  • Water Quality
  • Moisture
  • Temperature
  • Touch
  • Camera Optical

B.R.I.S uses these sensors to monitor the growth of the plant(s) and can change temperatures, water, and moisture depending on the needs. For example, if the temperature was too hot for the plant to successfully grow, B.R.I.S would control the temperature changes, adjusting to make the plant perfectly comfortable. The reason why B.R.I.S would be so important for the Lunar Gateway is because when humans aren’t around, or they’re conducting other experiments, it can function on its own, without help from any other object. It would work inside the space station, in its own specific room. Overall, I think B.R.I.S would really help the Lunar Gateway."
